4 September 2019, PIB, Dhaka-A Situation Analysis and Idea Generation Workshop was held today at Conference Room of Press institute Bangladesh (PIB).The objective of the workshop was to generate ideas for developing Digital Literacy Content for secondary level education. The day-long program was divided into two segments- during the first half SACMID team has shared some of the key findings from its recent country-wide media literacy situation survey. Later Mr.Sabbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Assistant Professor of Institute of Education and Research, Dhaka University shared the findings of content analysis which he has recently conducted on the ICT Text books of Secondary Education under the guidance and support of SACMID.The review of the existing contents has been done in line with the recently accomplished adolescents’ skill development framework of NCTB-UNICEF.The findings of both the study provided valuable food for thought for the participants who joined in 03 group exercises to identify some possible themes and topics against the gaps and demands as reflected in the content analysis study.Mr.Luthfor Rahman,Curriculum Development Specialist of NCTB and Mr.Iqbal Hossain,Education Specialist of UNICEF added critical thoughts during the first half of the day. Mr.Jafar Wazed, Director General of PIB chaired the session.
During the latter half of the program after the lunch break, the specialists have identified some key themes and topics in 03 groups which have been presented in plenary after the group exercise. It is expected that these outcomes of group works will bring out exclusive and valuable ideas and contribute in the development of Digital Literacy Content for Secondary level education.
Representatives from NCTB, Access to Information, PIB, UNESCO, UNICEF, Dhaka University, Jagannath University, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, Digital Publication Bangladesh joined in the workshop.
