Under the Project Title: Promoting Media Literacy in Bangladesh, SACMID is implementing the following activities between the time line of January-August 2020. It can be noted that in consultation with FPU, the supporter of the project, SACMID had to revise its activities due to the unprecedented lock-down situation around Corona Pandemic in the project area.

The activities to implement for the year 2020:

  1. Capacity development for local leaders on Media and Information Literacy to combat violent extremism on social platform
  • Develop Training Manual
  • Develop digital awareness material through organizing Online competition (in collaboration with EMK Center)
  • Facilitate Training for Community leaders (in 02 unions outside of the capital)

 

  1. Choose fake news of the week and create Video Blog (In collaboration with and administered by Fact watch-ULAB)
  2. Analysis of Teachers’ Curriculum in the light of Media Literacy (in collaboration with TTC)
  • Newly Developed Content proposed to NCTB to include in the Text book & Capacity building of the teachers
  • Consultation Meeting

 

  1. Research (Survey, Assessment, critical analysis, story making) on: in and around Media & Corona crisis

 

  • Digitalization Practice & Prospect

 

  • Conduct on line survey – free flow of information and Journalists’ safety & security

 

  • Featuring Journalists

 

  • Role of Media in crisis

 

  • Media in post-crisis

 

  • Publication of study findings

 

 

  1. Awareness Campaign on COVID -19

 

  • Social Influencer engagement – Social Media Campaign (by using community radio) to combat fake news through social influencer like young celebrity, celebrity doctor, religious leader.
