Syed Kamrul Hasan

Deputy Director & Program Manager

Syed Kamrul Hasan has a background of working more than 20 years in media and development communication field. After completing post-graduation degree Mr. Hasan has started his career as a professional journalist. After a couple of years as a working journalist and writer, he switched over to development field and worked in different national and international organizations in different disciplines. Along with management and supervision experiences as project lead, his specializations included develop new project proposal, setting implementation strategy and produce relevant media contents in line with different development issues. Having a research background, he has got additional expertise in editing, independent writing and supervise publications works. Mr. Hasan has worked as a guest researcher with Press Institute Bangladesh for 1 year and awarded a research on – “Sustainability of Community Radio in Bangladesh.” Since 2017 he has been working as Deputy Director and Program Manager for South Asia Center for Media in Development-SACMID, a pioneering organization dedicated for promoting media and gender literacy in Bangladesh. In his position and the responsibilities he has been bestowed on is to manage & supervise the overall management of the functions and activities (including staff management, financial supervision and donors ‘communication). He is to lead the program team and as part of his responsibilities he is to provide all sorts of guidance and support to the project team members in their project implementation process and finally to be accountable to the Secretary of the Board.

Saidul Islam

Senior Program Officer (Monitoring, Quality Control & Reporting)

Saidul has completed Masters of Social Science (MSS) from University of Dhaka on Mass communication and Journalism. He has worked as a Program Officer (Media Monitoring) in Protecting Independent Media for Effective Development (PRIMED) project with SACMID from 2021 to 2023. Saidul has also worked as a journalist in Ekhon Television, where he has received an intensive training on ‘Broadcast Journalism’ conducted by various experienced media professionals. At present he is working as a Senior Program Officer (Monitoring, Quality Control & Reporting) in ‘Combating mis and disinformation sparked by digital and social media platforms in Bangladesh’ project with SACMID since October 2023.

Md. Easin Ahmed

Program Officer (Research & Community Mobilization)

Md. Easin Ahmed is a highly educated and experienced individual with a strong background in journalism and media studies. He has a Master’s degree in Mass Communication & Journalism from Khulna University, and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field. He has also completed a number of relevant trainings, including an online training on Mobile Journalism from The National Press Club in Washington, DC.

Ahmed has a wide range of work experience, including working as a Stuff Reporter at Daily Khulnanchal, a local daily newspaper with both print and online versions. Apprentices under Abu Hana Mostafa Jamal special correspondent ‘Maasranga Television’ Khulna Bureau. He has also worked as a Research Assistant for PEACE Consortium, Helios, and Rupantar.

With his remarkable organizational prowess, Md. Easin Ahmed spearheaded the establishment of Khulna University Research Society (KURS), a prominent organization within the university’s ecosystem. He further demonstrated his leadership acumen by serving as President of Badhan Khulna University Unit (2019-20) and co-founding the Journalism Club as Joint-Secretary.

Shadman Al Arbi

Program Officer (Digital Communications)

Shadman Al Arbi is a Digital Communication Expert with a background in Media Studies and Journalism, specializing in Digital Journalism. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and a post-graduate degree in Development Studies from Jahangirnagar University. He has enriched his professional journey by contributing as a Multimedia Content Creator at Business Insider Bangladesh and later as a Digital Content Developer at DM WATCH LIMITED.

Currently serving as a Program Officer in Digital Communication at SACMID, his expertise lies in Digital Communication through Photography/Cinematography and Graphic Design, complemented by skills in Web Design and Social Media Management.

Mahbuba Ahmed Roje

Program Officer (IEC Material Development)

Mahbuba completed her Master of Arts (MA) in the Bangla department at the University of Dhaka. Currently, she is working on her research paper while seeking an M.Ed. at BRAC University.

Mahbuba was a Teach For Bangladesh fellow and worked directly with the marginalized community. She has worked in the educational leadership and development sector for over two years. She received professional training in the development of educational materials as part of her fellowship.

Mst. Naznin Akter

Finance & Admin Officer

Completed Masters of Business Studies (M.B.S) under National University in Accounting. Naznin has completed 03 years CA (CC) course from a reputed Audit firm (FAMES & R Chartered Accountants) under Instituted of Chartered Accountants (ICAB).

She has participated in training course relating to audit planning, risk assessment, disclosure in financial statements in compliance with Bangladesh Accounting standards (BASs) conducted by partners and managers of FAMES & R., Chartered Accountants.

Aovijid Ray

Admin Assistant

Aovijid is a recent BA graduate who is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science. He is currently employed as an Admin Assist at SACMID. He is also a highly organized and efficient individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
