South Asia Center for Media in Development (SACMID) successfully concluded the third day of training on voter education and legal rights for women at the Brahmanbaria Press Club, continuing its ongoing initiative ahead of Bangladesh’s 13th National Election.
The training was organized under the project “Her Vote, Her Voice”, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented in Brahmanbaria with the support of local NGO partner Swonirvor Brahmanbaria.
As part of this initiative, four separate training sessions are being conducted with new participants in each session, from 31 January through February 2026, to ensure wider outreach and inclusive participation among women and community members.
The third-day session was facilitated by Iqramuddaula, a media professional, who conducted in-depth discussions on voter education, women’s legal rights and protections within the electoral process, challenges women may face while casting their votes, and the roles and responsibilities of women as informed and active citizens.
A total of 20 participants attended the session, representing diverse backgrounds. The interactive discussions and active engagement of participants contributed to a dynamic and effective learning environment.
The training was attended and facilitated by Shadman Al Arbi and Abu Sufian, Program Officers of SACMID, who supported the coordination and smooth implementation of the program.
SACMID believes that continued voter education and legal rights training is essential to empowering women as confident voters and to fostering a safe, inclusive, and democratic electoral environment ahead of the 2026 national election.
