02 January 2025: As part of the project Journalism of the Future in collaboration with DW Akademie, South Asia Centre for Media in Development (SACMID) team had the privilege of visiting the Mass Communication and Journalism Discipline at Khulna University. This visit was part of an ongoing initiative aimed at enhancing journalism education and fostering collaboration between academic institutions and media organizations.
The event, which included faculty members, students, and participants, was a remarkable opportunity for insightful exchanges and discussions on the evolving landscape of journalism. The SACMID team and attendees explored various aspects of future journalism, including technological advancements, ethical standards, and emerging challenges in the media industry.
Head of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department, Sara Monami Hossain, along with other distinguished faculty members, actively participated in the workshop, contributing to meaningful dialogue and making it a highly enriching experience for all. They discussed various aspects of future journalism, including how to sustain a career in this field.
We are deeply grateful to the Mass Communication and Journalism Discipline at Khulna University for their warm hospitality and for making this visit so special. We look forward to further collaborations with Khulna University as we continue working on initiatives to elevate the quality of journalism in Bangladesh and beyond.
