SACMID Concludes Fourth Day and Four-Day Training Series on Voter Education and Legal Rights in Brahmanbaria

South Asia Center for Media in Development (SACMID) successfully concluded the fourth and four day training series on Voter Education and Legal Rights on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, at the Brahmanbaria Press Club.

The four-day training program began on 31 January 2026, with the second day held on 1 February, the third day on 2 February, and the fourth and concluding session on 3 February 2026. Through this final session, SACMID has officially completed the full four-day training series on voting education and legal rights.

The training was organized under the project “Her Vote, Her Voice”, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh and implemented by SACMID in Brahmanbaria with the support of local NGO partner Sanirvor Brahmanbaria.

Namia Akter, Senior Policy Advisor at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, graced the event by sharing her valuable remarks and joined the session virtually via Google Meet.

A total of 24 participants attended the session, representing diverse backgrounds. The interactive discussions and active engagement of participants contributed to a dynamic and effective learning environment.

The fourth-day training session was conducted by Mohammad Sahabuddin, Executive Producer of Ekushe Television, who led in-depth discussions on voter education, women’s legal rights within the electoral process, and the responsibilities of media and citizens in promoting free, fair, and informed elections.

The program was facilitated by Shadman Al Arbi and Abu Sufian, Program Officers of SACMID, who supported the coordination and smooth implementation of the training session.

Through this four-day training initiative, SACMID aimed to enhance women’s understanding of voting procedures, legal rights, and protections within the electoral process, while also building confidence among women voters to participate actively and safely in the upcoming 13th National Election of Bangladesh.

Beyond training activities, SACMID is working to promote and protect the voting and legal rights of women voters through continuous monitoring of the pre-election, election-day, and post-election phases. Dedicated monitoring teams will document key developments, challenges, and incidents related to women’s electoral participation.

All findings, updates, and monitoring information from the project will be made publicly available on the project’s official website: https://hervotehervoice.com.

SACMID believes that sustained voter education, legal awareness, and systematic monitoring are essential to ensuring a transparent, inclusive, and democratic electoral environment, where women can exercise their voting rights freely and confidently.
