Dhaka, October 24, 2025 – The two-day 10th Annual Conference of the Communication and Journalism Educators’ Network, themed “Media Transformed: Bangladesh at a Crossroad,” commenced today at the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) campus.

The conference aims to bring together educators, journalists, researchers, and policymakers to explore the evolving landscape of media in the digital era. The event is jointly organized by DW Akademie, with support from German Cooperation, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing media education and innovation in Bangladesh.

A key highlight of the opening day was the panel discussion titled “New Trends in Journalism: Creative Approaches by DW Akademie and SACMID.” The session spotlighted the ongoing module development initiative under the project “Journalism of the Future,” jointly implemented by DW Akademie and SACMID.

The discussion featured module developers Ms. Nazia Afrin Monami, Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Montu, and Mr. Saiful Islam Chowdhury, alongside Mr. Syed Kamrul Hasan, Deputy Director, SACMID, as panel discussants. Their presentations introduced newly developed journalism modules designed to equip future journalists with innovative skills and forward-looking perspectives.

Moderated by Ms. Jimi Amir, Project Manager, DW Akademie, the one-hour session was dynamic and engaging, drawing active participation through questions, comments, and feedback from the audience.

The conference continues tomorrow, fostering dialogue and collaboration toward shaping a resilient and forward-thinking media ecosystem in Bangladesh.
