July 01, 2024/ Drawing Competition to spread awareness against rumor, misinformation and disinformation held in a Secondary School at Sreepur, Gazipur
South Asia Center for Media in Development (SACMID) has successfully organized a vibrant drawing competition to spread awareness against rumor, misinformation and disinformation at Bashbari Adarsha High School at Sreepur in Gazipur. The competition took place on July 01 (Monday) morning to noon.
The event was organized under the project “Combating Misinformation and Disinformation Sparked by Digital and Social Media Platforms in Bangladesh,” was funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh.
It saw the enthusiastic participation of about 21 students of the secondary school from Class IX to X where more than half of the participants were girls. The students showcased their creativity and critical thinking through their artwork, addressing the pressing issue of misinformation in the digital age.
Out of the talented group of competitors, six students were awarded for their exceptional pieces, recognizing their artistic contributions and insightful messages. The event not only highlighted the students’ artistic talents but also underscored the importance of critical awareness in combating misinformation.
