Kick off meeting of “Joining Forces: CSO-Media Accountability in Bangladesh” project held in Dhaka

A kick off meeting of “Joining Forces: CSOs and Media for Accountability in Bangladesh” project has been held in a hotel in Dhaka. Free Press Unlimited and Article 19, two international media development organizations, hosted the program. Delegates of the host organizations and delegates from 6 associating organizations participated in the event.

The program took place from 9am to 2pm with various activities including discussions, presentations, question and answer sessions.

Among others, Syed Kamrul Hassan, Deputy Director of SACMID, a partner Civil Society Organization, Mubinul Islam Mubin, Editor of Dainik Gramer Kagoj, a co-partner Media organization, Naznin Akter, Finance and Admin Officer, SACMID and Md Shahinur Islam, Program Officer, SACMID, Shopna Debnath, Social Media Editor and Shimul Bhuiyan, Staff Reporter of Dainik Gramer Kagoj were present at the meeting.

This kick off meeting served as a platform for key stakeholders to unite in their commitment to advancing accountability in Bangladesh.

The event also fostered constructive dialogue, laying the groundwork for collaborative initiatives that will contribute to a more transparent and responsible governance landscape. This project is funded by the European Union.

South Asia Center for Media in Development (SACMID) is a non-profit organization committed to development of media. The organization is already working for increasing media literacy, development of women, and training media workers and more.
