South Asia Center for Media in Development (SACMID) completed two days long survey in Dhaka for the situation analysis under the project: Combating Mis and Disinformation Sparked by Digital and Social Media Platforms in Bangladesh funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 12th December, 2023.
A total of 186 survey data were collected for the situation analysis in Dhaka. 126 (67.74%) data were collected from suburban parts of Dhaka and 60 (32.26%) data were collected from urban parts. The samples were distributed among Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhanmondi (30) and North City Corporation, Badda (30). Other data were collected from southern suburban Part Ati (63) and northern suburban part Birulia (63). Kobo collect, a mobile application has been used for the survey as it doesn’t need any paper and environment friendly.
A total of 11 enumerators collected all these data. Among 11 enumerators, four were students of Department of Media Studies and Journalism, United International University (UIU). Other enumerators were also students from renowned universities of Bangladesh. They all have received training on the questionnaires, sampling matrix, and survey mechanisms from SACMID on 6th December 2023.
3 supervisors from SACMID facilitate the survey and MD. Easin Ahmed (Program Officer, Research and Community Mobilization), SACMID coordinated the entire situation analysis process.
It was a pleasant experience for both SACMID team and the enumerators. All of them collectively worked hard and reached the target.
